Missions

We strive to share God’s love in tangible ways with our local community, people all around our region, and our brothers and sisters around the world.
Western Wake Crisis Ministry

wwcm_new_iconWestern Wake Crisis Ministry provides a helping hand to residents in the Apex and Holly Springs community. This organization supports in the form of providing food and crisis financial aid to those in our community whose ability to sustain independent living is threatened by unexpected circumstances.

The Peak assists by providing volunteers at their pantry and also with weekly food donations. You can donate non-perishable foods to the blue bin located in our lobby on Sunday mornings.  To learn more about how to partner with this agency, click here [Find out more] or you can contact Irene DezWaan at idezwaan4@gmail.com

Bike Ministry

bike_iconAt The Peak, we have a team that gathers on a regular basis to wash, repair and distribute bicycles to those who need a simple form of transportation. This ministry has enabled recipients to get and hold a job despite not having a car.  Also, we have been able to give kids their own bike for the first time.  We give away over 100 bicycles each year!

Want to help? No experience necessary! Volunteers or all skill levels join together to wash, repair, and distribute the bikes. We have several people who are very knowledgeable and this would be a great opportunity for you to learn how to service your own bike.

Bike Donations: We are also always looking for bikes to donate, regardless of their condition. Some can simply be cleaned up and others are used for parts.  Arrangements can be made through the front office for bike pick-up.

You can also email the director of this ministry, Sage Smith, to Volunteer!

Habitat for Humanity

habitat_iconImagine not having a home to return to each night. Habitat for Humanity offers safe, affordable homes for God’s people to help end the cycle of poverty. No special skills are required. Crew members provide on-the-job training. You can serve one time, every month, or on a weekly basis.

The Peak is now a partner with Apex Habitat for Humanity of Wake County. By volunteering, we will join other campuses in raising roofs so families in need can experience the profound impact of home ownership.

Build dates are listed in the bulletin and in our eGuide. Anyone age 16 and above can participate. 16-18 year-olds must be accompanied by a parent.

Aulander Christmas Families

aulander_christmas_iconOne church that The Peak has partnered with for the last several years is All God’s Children UMC in Aulander, NC.  This Christmas, you can adopt a family to provide gifts and spread the joy of the season.

Then, you can also join the group that travels to Aulander to deliver the gifts in person! Information about both of these opportunities will be available this November.

Apex Outreach Service Project

aosp_iconFor one week each summer, youth and adults from our Apex Family of Faith communities make repairs on the homes of senior adults here in Apex and surrounding areas.  Typical work includes: painting, replacing siding, flooring, building ramps, etc.  This is a wonderful opportunity for families with teenagers to work together and serve our local community.

ASOP usually occurs mid summer so stay tuned for details as the date draws near.  You can also email the organizer of this opportunity, Lennie Furlough, to Find out more!

Youth Engaged in Service

yes_iconYES (Youth Engaged in Service) is a mission weekend developed specifically for our middle school youth from each of our faith communities. It is designed to be an introduction to missional work – why we do it, for whom we do it and how we do it. It is a great opportunity for our new youth to join Jesus in loving and serving the world!

YES weekend occurs every September so stay tuned for more details on this opportunity!  You can email the organizer of this event, Mandy Wilkins, to Find out more!
